Christopher
Talley put on his first pair of tap
shoes at age five. He grew up dancing at Chris Collins Dance Studios where he
studied all forms of dance, though his first love was and is tap.
Christopher performed his first
solo at age nine, and ever since has loved performing. As he advanced he
received many special awards at local and national dance competitions. Just a
few include the Overall Grand Champion at Dance Caravan for two years, Overall
Title Winner at several competitions. He has also received platinum recognition
from many national competitions as well as many overall high score awards.
He became recognized for his
"Fabulous Feet" throughout the area. Christopher also danced with the
prestigious Tappers With Attitude Company, and in recent years has taken
extensive workshop training from such leading dancers as Savion Glover, Bakaari
Wilder, Diane Walker, Noble Potts, Lane Alexander, and Andrew Nemr.
While in college, he and a few tap
dancers who had known each other from competitions, formed their own performing
group which won national recognition in the Battle of the Stars at Starpower
Nationals. As a group, Christopher and his fellow dancers exhibited that
friendships and cooperation can extend beyond individual studio boundaries.
Now a graduate of James Madison
University, Christopher sings lead vocals for The Bigger Lights, but still makes
time to share his own style of choreography with our students as an instructor.
He has played the leading role in bringing rhythm tap to our Dance Company. |
