No student is required to participate in the recital. However, for most Students it is the highlight of the year. After a student has worked hard all year, it is a feeling of personal accomplishment to perform on stage, beautifully costumed before family and friends. This special stage experience also helps with the development of confidence, poise and personality. This section serves as your single-source destination for details regarding Showtime recital -- our annual show!
Indoor theatre etiquette is different from an outdoor sporting event. While applause is appreciated, yelling names and other calls to the stage is inappropriate. Courtesy is contagious. If the adults practice courtesy, the children will learn from that. Please remain seated while performers are on stage.
The use of camera or video cameras is prohibited. Please turn off all cell phones and pagers during the performance. No food or drink is permitted in the auditorium. No smoking is permitted in the building. Please present any flowers or gifts to performers following the show. Do not approach the stage at any time -- including during the grand finale / curtain call. Do not visit the dressing rooms during the show. Only mothers of students may go to the dressing rooms at intermission. No guests, please!
